In July, we had the absolute pleasure of catering for Adam and Kelly’s beautiful wedding in Ongar, Essex. With 150 guests gathered to celebrate their love, it was a truly memorable day filled with incredible food, laughter, and impeccable hospitality.

From the very first moment, it was clear this was going to be a special event. We worked closely with Lucy Meehan Events www.lucymeehanevents.co.uk to coordinate every detail seamlessly. Having Lucy onboard ensured that the planning and flow of the day felt effortless, allowing us to focus on what we do best – delivering exceptional food and service. For the bar, we partnered with The Bar Art District – www.barartdistrict.com who kept glasses full and spirits high with their outstanding cocktail service.

The Menu

The couple wanted a refined, high-end menu that would wow their guests, and we curated a dining experience that was both elegant and indulgent.

Canapés

As guests mingled, we served a selection of six canapés:

  • Goat cheese & caramelised onion
  • Hummus & falafel
  • Pulled Pork & apple
  • King Prawn with lime & coriander
  • Mozzarella & heritage tomato
  • Lamb kofta with tzatziki

These bites set the tone perfectly – vibrant, fresh, and beautifully presented.

Starter

Guests then enjoyed a smoked fish duo, with peppered beetroot, and shaved fennel, a delicate and flavourful way to begin the meal.

Main Course

The main event was a real showstopper. The groom, Adam, owns his own butchery business, and it was an honour to source the finest British beef directly from him. His passion for quality meat shone through in every bite of this fillet steak dish.

The plate was completed with:

  • Brioche crouton
  • Spinach
  • Chicken pâté
  • Roasted Mushroom ketchup
  • Pulled beef croquette

Each table was also served chips to share, along with both Madeira jus and peppercorn sauce – a true feast. For vegetarian guests, we prepared an indulgent Wellington, ensuring everyone had a dish to remember.

Dessert

To finish, guests enjoyed a luxurious chocolate & Baileys glass dessert – rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet note to end the meal.

Children’s Menu

With 21 little guests, we also provided a thoughtful children’s menu. Plates of garlic bread, chicken dippers, peas, and the all-important ketchup and mayo were followed by a classic chocolate brownie. Some of the older children even tucked into the fillet steak like the grown-ups!

Evening Food

As the evening celebrations unfolded, we served our take on the ultimate crowd-pleaser – JP’s version of KFC. Guests enjoyed crispy chicken alongside corn, beans, coleslaw, and plenty of chips. Tea and coffee were also available to round off the night.

A Memorable Celebration

Catering Adam and Kelly’s wedding was an incredible experience for our team. The mix of suppliers, the level of detail, and the sheer joy of the couple and their guests made it a day to remember.

We’re proud to have played a part in such a high-end and heartfelt celebration – and delighted that the event was a resounding success from start to finish.
